Hello Weevils!
On this special one-off post, I would like to share the huge lifetime that I have had on Bin Weevils and in the Bin Weevils community. It all started this very day, 9 years ago...
On this special one-off post, I would like to share the huge lifetime that I have had on Bin Weevils and in the Bin Weevils community. It all started this very day, 9 years ago...
CHAPTER 1: LIFE IN THE OLD BIN
Though I did join a bit earlier on a weevil called 'monty2000' whom I only got two goes on due to not knowing it's password (and it wasn't created directly by me also). So, on the 27th October 2008, I created monty200 which is the weevil I have kept and am still recognised by this day!
Bin Weevils itself was introduced to me by my BFF one day in school by which one thing I distinctively remember was where I was told a lot about owning a nest and being able to invite others to it and I think playing games was also another thing I was told about. So, I joined it and have absolutely loved it since!
In the old bin, I was merely an 8 year old rookie player (who only had 1 hour a day play-time due to not having my own PC or laptop) meaning I had several strong characteristics that any crazy fanboy would have. For instance, I discovered the famous player 'bandit' via watching Bin Weevils related YouTube videos and since then, I literally became obsessed with him and even tried guessing his password on several different occasions! Every time I used to see him in the bin, I used to get extremely excited and tried to get him added to my buddy list all the time! There was one time where he briefly went to my nest (one thing I loved doing was decorating my nest and inviting several people to come round and see it!) and I started bouncing off the walls like I had won a huge cash prize or something when I saw him enter! One memory I also remember quite well was when the inside of Flem Manor first opened and at the time, the staircase was closed off so you couldn't go up it yet however, bandit being bandit, I witnessed him exploiting up the inaccessible staircase and glitching himself into the clock at the top of the stairs; making it so that all his speech bubbles were coming out of the clock! One time, using my phone, I did actually snap a photo of bandit when I saw him one day:

One time, using my phone, I did actually snap a photo of bandit when I saw him one day:
Also, I even had this as my wallpaper on my old phone:
And finally, I even made my own fan account called 'bandit zx' which stood among other fan accounts of the weevil:
Since then, my 'bandit zx' account has since been changed in the newer bin to look exactly like bandit and has since been Parent Disabled due to letting people test their exploits on it.
Other than being a crazy fanboy, I tended to also enjoy doing some of my own independent activities which were decorating my nest and playing the games found in Kip's Scrapyard. One game in particular called 'Mulch Blaster' (a re-make of the game is now playable in the annual Summer Fair) was a game I particularly enjoyed due to the fact I was simply good at it. Most of the times I used to play it, I used to get top of the daily leaderboards and even got 9th place on the all-time best scoring leaderboard which I guess was quite impressive being only 8 or 9 years old at the time. In terms of nests, I built up many themed rooms such as a bedroom, a disco room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Back then, filling up your room with random big items wasn't an expectation of a good nest so I used to think carefully and neatly place and layout nest items in a way that the room actually looked professional and NOT like I am some mad hoarder! All the nest items at the 'Nest Shop' also actually adapted to the size and environment of your nest so there was never an issue of not being able to fit in an item unless of course you had a shelf items with no free shelf space on. There was one time where the universe once looked down on me as when I was building up my nest, I decided to create a kitchen and I only really got to place one fish clock up on the wall. But suddenly, the release of new Kitchen nest items came out and boy, it was sure the right time to be released! Once released, I went down to the shop and bought several different items which helped build up a kitchen that I genuinely wasn't expecting as my original intention was to simply put some stools and tables together along with cupboards and a fish clock since quite frankly, there wasn't many possibilities you could find when it came to building a kitchen before the kitchen nest items came out. The closest I got to any sort of fame in the old bin was simply the fantastic nest I built up and one time, I invited a load of people to come round and see and after seeing my nest, they all wanted to add me! Being that my buddy list was also full at the time, I only really got to add two weevils and the weevils I added were actually talking about how I was added to their list!
I used to also try out many other weevils posted on sites such as 'BugMeNot' where some such as 'tangy sandy' were modded so they had loads of mulch and being a child, I used to go on the weevils and sell all their stuff (as back then, weevils shared among the community were properly looked after!) just so I could see a large amount of mulch added onto the modded amount at the end! I also went on accounts such as 'flame boys', 'Zhanna-XxX' and 'buzzardly' and used to invite loads of people to their nests to show off their KOTB trophies!
My first Christmas back in the old bin was also exceptionally amazing! I remember by BFF first telling me at school about the advent calendar and how you got daily mulch when you opened it! Me being me, I got super hyped and extremely enjoyed collecting up lots of mulch day by day! In fact, mulch was such an excitement to me that when I first encountered the daily crown that used to spawn in random areas everyday, I kept constantly saying "I can't believe it" when I was given 100 mulch out of the blue like that! Collecting free Christmas trees and going round the bin hunting for the decorations was an activity I also found exceptionally fun! December of 2008 was also the month where I adopted my bin pet whom I called 'shadow'!
Although I was going through phases of switching between Club Penguin and Bin Weevils in 2009, I know for sure that Bin Weevils was a fantastic game to have had experienced during the short time I had on it in fall 2008 and throughout 2009. I remember when Bin Tycoon first came out and I found it extremely cool how you could wear hats as back in the day, the only form of wearable accessory were the two 'King Of The Bin' crowns you got to wear when winning the 'King Of The Bin' competition (which although I found it fun, I got nowhere near to actually winning the prize!). Despite Bin Tycoon only just coming out, I still really wanted to become a member but unfortunately, I didn't get to and it was only until 2012 that I became one for the first time. Features such as the 'Bin Tycoon Christmas Shop' also attracted to my eye as I genuinely thought it was an exclusive shop where you could buy loads of Christmas related stuff only to find out years later that it was just a Christmas game (but would have still attracted my attention even if I knew at the time). One thing I also did in a way of challenging myself was to reach up to 10,000 mulch (which I used to interpret as '1 million' than 'ten thousand' as the time) which was quite a lot of mulch at the time and once I reached it, I remember deciding to treat myself by which I went over to the Nest Shop and bought a new nest room and having over 4,000 mulch still left! I also enjoyed watching the Bin Weevils Cartoons over at Riggs and also had my own YouTube channel at the time which only had one or two Bin Weevils related videos which have since been deleted. I used to also be a little bit of a young mischief by which I used to visit 'Same Difference Island' and say 'Sonic The Hedgehog is going to kill you' on a couple of occasions. I also vaguely remember when Weevil Weekly came out and flicking through the magazine whilst being amazed at Scribbles' antenna (though I had seen a picture of big weevil labelled as 'amazing special' so I already knew about the super antenna) but due to being very lazy at the time, I didn't bother even reading it so I can't remember anything it said! Via the difficult process of getting my old videos and photos from my old motorola, I was able to retrieve my old Bin Weevils videos and pictures (such as the pictures seen above) this very year so as a major throwback and memory, here are all the videos I have which are in fact the only footage of myself in the old bin:

Yes, there were ACTUALLY people playing the game and yes, the quality of these videos are extremely poor and low but hey, this was recorded from a flip phone in 2008/2009!
Here are all the other photos I have other than the ones above which have been recovered:

My early days on Bin Weevils sure were a lot of fun! Some days I wish I just had my own full access to the game at the time since I feel like I have missed out on quite a lot of experience such as achieving the old classic nest trophies the Nest Inspector used to give out (though I do remember when nest inspections first came about but was unfortunately unable to get access to the game during the time the Nest Inspector would visit).
CHAPTER 2: RETURN TO THE UPDATED GAME
Unfortunately, I lost complete internet access from late 2009 or early 2010 meaning I could no longer experience or go on Bin Weevils anymore. All I had from 2010-2012 was good for nothing Wii internet which didn't run flash meaning I couldn't play any of the online games I played. However, it didn't stop me getting completely no access. In 2010 in fact, I remember when Bin Weevils was completely refurbished and then seeing the advert for it on TV. Surprisingly enough, I thought it looked pretty good seeing as features such as gardens were available and mentioned (in the old bin, one of the features that I wished could be a thing was for you to have a garden) and so I desperately wanted to play it so one day, I was round one of my former friends houses when I was actually able to get access to a computer and doing so, I finally accessed Bin Weevils once again after several months of not going on it! At first, I did actually think the game was quite amazing being as I only got small fractions of access to it throughout 2010 and 2011 and continued to love it as I did in 2008 and 2009. I only really had time for a bit of nest decorating, XP earning, playing a few games etc in the early years of the new Bin Weevils.
However, it was until 2012 that I was able to scrape all my savings together and purchase an extremely cheap LG laptop which was so utter crap that it only had 512MB RAM to begin with! Although I originally had different intentions for the laptop, visiting Bin Weevils on it and finally having proper play time made me officially play Bin Weevils once again! Being that I had only just properly returned and didn't get that much playtime in the old bin, I still had many rookie player and fanboy characteristics throughout the year. Rather than being a fanboy over bandit (since he had already left by then as it was), I tended to get excited when I saw weevils like 'GLAMM' and 'MUDD' who used to visit your gardens and nests every month in a hope of winning the Bin Weevils Magazine contest! 2012 was also the year where I finally became a Bin Tycoon for the first time by which I purchased a one month membership card from my local supermarket and I have to say, I found the game exceptionally entertaining with my first membership! One of the first things I did was purchase and try on some hats for the first time by which at the time, my favourite hat was the umbrella hats which were quite rare in Hem's Hats back then. Another thing I tried out and extremely enjoyed was creating magazines which added up to a total of 123 magazines being created overall! Here is the first ever magazine I created in the first ever week I became a Bin Tycoon for the first time:

And it was quite basic compared to the last magazine I created:
It was no doubt the feature that made be buy so many Bin Tycoon memberships in the first place! When I was first a Bin Tycoon, I was always excited to come home from school and play since when you are first a member, there was just so much things to do!
2012 also saw the birth of my YouTube channel which I still use to this day! Had I still known the password to the YouTube channel I used in the old bin though, I'd have simply used that instead! The videos I created were in no doubt anything like the videos I create nowadays. In fact, they used to be plain old boring average Bin Weevils videos where I type out text onto the screen and record using HyperCam zZz...... Such videos have since been unlisted but can be still accessed via a playlist I created on a different channel. Here is the first ever video I created on my YouTube channel back in 2012:

Although I didn't gain much popularity from videos at the time in terms of the actual Bin Weevils game itself, I did make a few friends with other Bin Weevils YouTubers. One YouTuber in particular was one called 'limit090909' who was known as 'jimmy3434' on Bin Weevils and upon meeting each other on YouTube in 2013, we then went to visit each other in-game and started to develop a close friendship by which we made videos of each other and what not. Sadly, he became inactive and we haven't spoke for years but it sure still puts a smile on my face looking back at the brief close friendship we had.
So, I was simply an ordinary Bin Weevils player once more just like in the old bin with exception that I was now a paid subscriber. I even continued the nest decorating and inviting I used to do but rather than doing it for the sake of it, I generally did it for the sake of XP gained from rating!
One of the greatest achievements of 2012 was getting into Bin Weevils Magazine Issue #7 by being one of the runners up in the art contest! This achievement along with my minority YouTube channel was likely the beginning of my recognition in the community.
At the end of 2012, I met my good friend callum390 who approached me in the Weevil Post and told me he had some "Silver nest trophies" (he had likely read my magazines since I used to post pictures of any trophies I found in them) and invited me over to his nest. In his nest I was very 'wowed' when I saw several things like photos of Scribbles and MONTY and old bronze nest trophies and even dedicated my 30th magazine on them:

On that very day, we added each other to our buddy lists and have developed a great friendship between each other since! I myself was particularly very happy as being a 12 year old kid, making a friend whom has such trophies and photo studio photos was beyond my 'cool' expectations!
From here on out in 2013, me and Callum tended to do some activities together in the game (mostly visiting each others nests when GLAMM or MUDD were there) but I have to be honest, it was very hard having to see him win both the best nest in Bin Weevils Magazine Issue #11 and win the first Scribbles trophy in such a small amount of time whilst I only got runners up in the nest competition in Bin Weevils Magazine Issue #12.
Then one day, Callum told me about his blog 'Bin Support' and told me to come on the xat chat that he and the other co-owner of the blog owned. I then searched the web and found this very chat room. And from then, things started to turn around for me BIG TIME!
CHAPTER 3: A STEP INTO THE PUBLIC EYE
It was on this third-party chat room that I was able to become a somebody in Bin Weevils. I got to know quite a lot of people and got to communicate with many other Bin Weevils players without the chat restriction you would get in-game. It was then in this circumstance that I tried being part of a blog for the first time. In the days of 2012 and 2013, I used to read up on many Bin Weevils blogs such as Weevily World, Bin Xtra and Bin Weevils Cheat Gang and after seeing and looking around Bin Support, I was destined to join and work on it! Then one day, a poll was released on the blog of who should be the next author on the site and I was on the poll among with other candidates. Once the poll closed, I unfortunately became second place with 'thedoctor999' winning the election and becoming part of Bin Support. However, despite losing, Callum nicely gave me a place on the blog due to the fact I was second and so it was there, I started to become a Bin Weevils blogger and got to join the Bin Support team consisting at the time of Light, Callum, Sassy600 (a weevil whom was just a random person I saw at Flum's Fountain a lot!), thedoctor999 and Mini-Drake-!
I posted my first introductory post on Bin Support and officially marked my face within the Bin Weevils blogging community! I got to know many weevils and started to become recognised among people in the game along with making many friends on the chat room! One person in particular was a weevil called 'Charzaird' whom was a newly recruited author of Bin Support who I first met on one of the days GLAMM and MUDD were visiting. I'm not particularly sure of how our relations advanced, but I remember having a friendship as close as the friendship I developed with Callum whom me and Charz tended to do a lot of things together. At the same time starting from 2012, I was also a rookie Photoshop user and come 2013, I began exploring graphics design by which I designed blog headers for blogs such as Charzaird's blog. The thing that truly saddens me was the time Charzaird left the community... and never came back since. If you are ever reading this Charzaird, I just hope you are doing well and that you can see me and other people you once knew once more.
Around the same time, I also met 3 time King Of The Bin winner 'X-lightening-X' whom I also befriended on Bin Weevils and started to develop a closer friendship with when he invited me to work on his site 'BinHub'. BinHub was in fact the first weebly powered site I worked on where I made lots of banners and graphics which went on several different pages. He also got me the gold 'Danger at Dosh's Palace' Bin Badge in return of mulch. I then taught myself the importance of earning achievements for yourself so I stopped the begging attitude of him getting more for me and achieved the other gold badges by myself after I got a proper PC (which I still use now).
Fall 2013 was where my weevil was actually banned as mentioned in a post I did on this site once (though I put that I was banned in 2014 on it by accident). This was due to an exploit tutorial I followed on YouTube which basically allowed you to visit anyone's nest and despite the fun I had doing it, I really did cause a racket after I got banned at the time! A week later though, I got it unbanned via phoning up. By the end of that year, I was recognised in-game and I guess you could say 'famous' through my blogging and in some cases, my YouTube videos and appearances in the Bin Weevils Magazines.
I from then started working on various Bin Weevils sites and blogs and one site in particular was Universal Edits whom I was immediately appointed admin to after sending in what was described as a 'spectacular' application back in mid-2014. After that, I started getting to know the site's owner 'emeeyceey' who was no doubt a random weevil I also saw at Flum's Fountain and used to invite to my nest a lot. He was also in charge of the bot on the Bin Support chat room for some time! Other than that, our friendship advanced and it in no doubt became a friendship as close to as the friendship I have with Callum and Charz and since then, nobody has got that close (but I still have great relations with people currently in my community such as Jjs, Dodger, Matty etc who I've met along the way!). Together, we learned how to code in HTML and CSS and used our skills in several different ways including even using it on this very site itself! I continued to work on Universal Edits by which I used to post lots of my Photoshop work and post lots about editing on there. Unlike other friendships, the friendship I have with emeeyceey is well, let's just say it went beyond virtual in early 2016!
For a throwback, here are some of the things I got up to during my blogging phase:

However, despite the gain of popularity and enjoyment among several new friends, I started having proper doubts about the development of the Bin Weevils game itself...
CHAPTER 4: THE REBELLION
This is the chapter that is still on-going today, where I am against the way the Bin Weevils Team are handling things and how they are treating their own loyal players.
I started to think deeply about how much Bin Weevils has changed and how it compares to the game I once played in 2008 and 2009. I started to think that the current game that I had been on since 2012 was just not good anymore and simply decided to leave the game back in early 2014 but of course stay within the community at the same time. However, 3 months later, I returned since Ink's Orange Peel was brought back and I thought I could give Bin Weevils a chance but how wrong I was when I started to look into 55Pixels (which had only just formed at the time).
The work I was doing on Bin Weevils blogs was cut down heavily with exception of Bin Support shutting down among other blogs and the only site I was really working on was Universal Edits which also ended up collapsing and no longer being updated. During most of 2014 and half of 2015, I mostly spent my days hanging out within the community on Twitter and Xat and played Bin Weevils as usual. Despite still preferring the old bin, I did still try to remain positive through my magazines and did still take part in competitions and come Spring that following year, the constant attempts of getting a Scribbles trophy finally paid off when my poem was selected as a winner!

And to this day, I still value the Scribbles trophy I won!
Once I decided to not renew my Bin Tycoon in 2015, I fully went against Bin Weevils and 55Pixels due to several experiences. It was in fact that one night I was laying in bed that the idea of Rant Central itself came to my mind and how there is actually so many things wrong with Bin Weevils in the modern day that it could actually be put into a site dedicated to the issues related around the game. So as of November 2015, I created this site and all I can say is that it sure has came a long way since it's debut!
2015 was also where I started to focus a lot more on my YouTube channel by which taking inspiration from Toontown YouTuber 'QuackityHQ', I was shown that editing doesn't have to be up to standard and voices don't have to be genuine to be successful. So I began to create videos similar to the ones made by Quackity (with my OWN ideas and characters of course!) and brought out this video as of the Summer of 2015:

And since then, my popularity has been based around my videos rather than my blogging and despite the low views due to the fact Bin Weevils is a dying community, it apparently was still enough to be popular among all the players and my videos in no doubt stood out when compared to other Bin Weevils videos.
2015 was also the time I gained political interest and started joining in the discussion of the 2015 general election on Twitter with my support of the Green party (until defecting over to Labour in 2016) and have since took part highly in the discussions of events such as the EU referendum of 2016 as well as the snap general election that took place this very year! And I am confident to say that along with my friend and Rant Central staff member Turbo who I also met within the Bin Weevils community, we have been quite the large political influence within the community and have no doubt encouraged many people within our small community to support Labour. My political interests have also impacted my videos as many of my views are presented through my very own weevil character whom I use in many of my videos!
2015 was in no doubt the year I stopped playing Bin Weevils completely although I did play for a 6 month period in 2016 as I bought a 6 month Bin Tycoon in support of King Of The Bin supposedly returning WHEN IT DIDN'T! But once that membership ran out, I've only been on to either work on a video or to simply hang out for fun sometimes. Sometimes I come on just for the sake of seeing an appalling update that in no doubt would have been hated by most of the community beforehand!
As of today, I continue working on videos (but in smaller quantities) and this site as well as continuing my activity on Twitter and also remain in contact with my great community friends on Discord. I still to this day raise a lot of awareness about 55Pixels through mostly this site but also in the forms of videos (although quite frankly, my videos are mainly jokes anyway and are over exaggerating the evilness of 55Pixels for the sake of it having to be funny) and if you happen to be the ones who say "Oh if you don't like Bin Weevils, then why don't you stop playing?". Well, what I have to say to that is that firstly, I don't play Bin Weevils anymore and secondly, I believe that children across the country or world deserve the experience I had on Bin Weevils when I was their age and that it is utterly unfair that they are being seen as products for 55Pixels's own interests rather than actual players like they used to be back in the old bin. So I raise awareness in order to show children that the experience they are getting is not ideal and that they should be getting the satisfaction I and many other old players got that many years ago.
And there, I conclude. I really hope you found this autobiography interesting! Good job if you were able to read through the entire thing as it certainly took hours upon hours writing! I find it amazing that the age of my weevil is now older than the age I was myself when I first joined Bin Weevils! This would have been ideal for next year as it would be a milestone 10th anniversary and 'X marks the spot' as they say but seeing as Bin Weevils is about to collapse and crumble, I think it was best to do this now whilst I still had the chance. I mean, 9 is still a pretty darn long time if you ask me!
I shall see you next time in an ordinary Rant Central post, but for now:
That's it for this post!
